How is Rhinoplasty Performed?
How is Rhinoplasty Performed?

Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure performed in a surgery center usually under a general anesthetic. The procedure, from beginning to end, usually takes between 1-3 hours, depending upon the desired results of the procedure.
A rhinoplasty may be performed in two ways. The first is called a closed procedure, in which the incisions are made inside the nostrils where scarring will not be visible. The tissue across the top and sides of the nose will be manipulated from below.
The second type of rhinoplasty procedure is called an open procedure, and is performed by making an incision across the columella, the narrow strip of tissue between the nostrils. Both procedures are frequently used.

What Does Recovery Look Like?
What Does Recovery Look Like?

There will be some swelling and bruising following a rhinoplasty surgery. Headaches and moderate pain are common, but will be easily controlled with a prescription pain medication.
Unlike many other types of cosmetic surgeries however, the downtime is minimal. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a matter of days.
Additionally, patients get to enjoy the immediate results of a new nose!

How do I find the best rhinoplasty surgeon?
How do I find the best rhinoplasty surgeon?

Your rhinoplasty surgeon should be extremely experienced and board certified.
They should inform you as to what your options are, how they can help you, and provide realistic results. Finding a rhinoplasty surgeon who can provide natural-looking results is also incredibly important.
A rhinoplasty surgeon should not only tell you what you need, but also listen to what you want.

Hi. I had a nose job about three years ago. I sometimes have a respiratory problem and also my nose is deformed and has a sharp tip. I want to have a revision surgery. I want to know more about the reconstructive surgery and also its cost. Thanks.
Revision surgery after three years

Hi. Since it’s been more than a year from your first surgery, it’s possible to have a revision surgery. The other factors that affect the reconstructive surgery are the type of skin and the problem in hand. What makes the revision surgery complicated are the cuts on the nasal nostrils and cavities, so the less the cuts, less complicated the revision surgery would be. In regard with the skin type, people who have a skin with medium thickness are the best candidates for the reconstructive surgery. Please call the office for information on the cost. For further information, please read the article on revision rhinoplasty: Revision Rhinoplasty

I’m 26 years old and have a relatively big nose. There’s bump on it which is more obvious from profile-view and bothering me. I don’t have enough money for the rhinoplasty. Is it possible to eliminate only the nasal bump with a low cost to smoothen the nose? Thank you.
My nose is relatively big. I don’t have enough money for the rhinoplasty?

the costs of rhinoplasty is not divided in a way that as the changes are less, surgery costs get lower. You should consider the cost of hospital, anesthesia, etc. Whether you want to operate only your nasal bump or change the whole of your nose, you should pay the costs of anesthesia, the place of surgery, etc. It’s better to wait till your financial ability improves. Then, you can take action for the rhinoplasty.

What is the right age for rhinoplasty?
What is the right age for rhinoplasty?

The nose usually continues to grow till puberty (around age 16) and it stops growing after this age. So having a rhinoplasty before this age is not reasonable, but it can be done even in old age, and if there are no cardiac or other problems, it will be very successful.

Can I have a face or brow lift during rhinoplasty?

Rejuvenating surgeries, such as brow lift to reduce the frown lines between the eyes, face lift for around the neck area, eyelid surgery to remove the excess fat and skin around the eyes, and smoothing the skin, such as chemical exfoliation, to improve wrinkles, can all be done during rhinoplasty.

I want to know that whether you operate through open surgery with external incisions?
I want to know that whether you operate through open surgery with external incisions?

the surgery method depends on the type of nose and surgical complexity. For the noses requiring sophisticated surgery, the open surgery should be applied to have enough accessibility. But some noses need minor changes which can be performed through close surgery. Determination of this stage is the surgeon’s responsibility. However, most of the rhinoplasties are done through the open surgery.

I have a somehow thick skin nose, and I’m pregnant right now. My delivery time is in May. I want to know how long should I wait after delivery to have a nose job?  I appreciate your response.
Rhinoplasty after having a baby

You can have a rhinoplasty two months after your delivery. You should avoid breastfeeding your baby up to 12 hours after the surgery, till the effects of the anesthetic drugs completely fades away from your body.
